Agreed Divorce Settlements - Capped Fees

If your net assets (excluding pensions) are worth less than £350,000 and your case is not unusually complex and does not have an international element the following fees will be the maximum that you will incur.*

Voluntary Disclosure/Negotiations  up to £750

To include:

Collating a detailed schedule of your, income, capital and liabilities
Contacting your spouse or his/her solicitor to arrange mutual exchange of information.
Effecting the exchange of financial disclosure.

Advice on Settlement  up to £250

To include :

One hour meeting with you and explaining your options.
Follow up written Advice.

Drafting Consent Order/Separation Agreement  up to £500

To include:

Preparation of documents.
Submission to you and to your spouse/spouse's solicitor for signature.
Submission to court (court fee currently £45 also payable on top)

Hopefully this will be all you require from us.

However, where agreement cannot be reached during the voluntary disclosure stage (perhaps due to the non-cooperation of your spouse) you will be give the option to issue ancillary relief proceedings.

It is entirely your decision whether you proceed along that route or not and you will not be pressured by us to do so.

Details of the fees charged for that process are to be found here.

*Please note the following important information.

We operate a capped fee charging system for negotiation and disclosure in divorce. You will be given a capped fee based on your individual case and we will not charge more than we say for the work covered in the fee. If the value of the work that we do is actually less than the capped fee estimate based on our hourly rates you will pay the LOWER fee.

The above fees are a guide only based on our hourly charging rates. They will only apply to your case once confirmed in writing to you.

Only routine meetings/ telephone calls are included. Telephone advice calls and additional/lengthy face to face advice meetings may be charged separately.

Barristers fees are not included. Barristers are usually only employed to deal with hearings but sometimes also offer second opinions in complex cases. Quotes will be provided where necessary.

All fee caps are for our fees only. They do not include property valuation fees or any other disbursement such as court fees.
